After all the sexual allegations against Kevin Spacey and his answer, Ridley Scott decided to remove him of his movie, the producers called Michelle’s first, and she was so happy that the movie could be rescued that she said yes, and even said that she could work for free, Ridley Scott said several times that him, Michelle and others cast members didn’t get paid. Here’s the facts :
Mark Wahlberg lied in interviews, lied to his director and the cast, everyone thought he worked for nothing
Mark Wahlberg had co-star approval in his contract ( which is crazy) and refused to work with Plummer until he was paid over a million dollars for the reshoot
Mark Wahlberg and his team lied to TMZ saying his contract did not have reshoots included, which have been denied by USA TODAY, Michelle and Mark contracts, both included reshoots
Michelle, the cast, and everyone involved wanted so much to find a way to release the movie, because with Spacey there was no way that the movie would have been released and promoted, so everyone wanted the best for the movie exept Mark Wahlberg who wanted to use this to have more money, behind the back of everyone, do i need to recall that he has a supporting role, minor role and michelle has the lead role. I’m baffed by the numbers of people who support Wahlberg, i didn’t know he was so loved, personally i never paid to see a movie with Wahlberg, and this speaks volumes for what kind of person he is, i don’t understand the appeal, neither Michelle, Mark or Ridley commented on this.
Mark Wahlberg refused to approve Christopher Plummer as a replacement for Kevin Spacey in All the Money in the World unless he was paid over a million dollars for the reshoot, USA TODAY has learned.
Wahlberg had co-star approval in his contract, two people familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly about it tell USA TODAY.
“What he said was, ‘I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me.’ And that’s how he (expletive) them,” says one person.
Another Hollywood insider says Wahlberg’s lawyer formally vetoed the Oscar winner in a letter to financiers until his demand for additional payment was met.
The Wrap reported Thursday that Wahlberg, who was paid $1.5 million for his All the Money in the World reshoots over the Thanksgiving holiday, did not have reshoots included in his contract and was therefore able to negotiate more pay for his extra time.
The Wrap said Williams’ contract included reshoots, contributing to why she was paid just an $80 per diem for her time. That works out to Williams being paid less than one-tenth of 1% of her male co-star.
But a person familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly about it tells USA TODAY that is incorrect. Both actors had reshoots in their contracts and both actors were in Europe filming for approximately the same number of days.
If you didn’t noticed there’s some huge talk about the pay gap between Michelle and Mark Wahlberg for the reshoot, Michelle and Ridley Scott said in several interviews they did the reshoot for almost nothing, mark said the same thing, turns out he was paid $1.5 million for reshooting his scenes while Michelle was paid an $80 per diem totaling less than $1,000.
But new information reveals ugly math behind the Hollywood victory. The reshoot cost $10 million (a fee put up by producing arm Imperative). In December, Scott told USA TODAY that the undertaking was aided by the fact that “everyone did it for nothing.”
The exchange went as follows:
RIDLEY SCOTT: “The whole reshoot was — in normal terms was expensive but not as expensive as you think. Because all of them, everyone did it for nothing.”
USA TODAY: “Really?”
SCOTT: “No, I wouldn’t get paid, I refused to get paid.”
USA TODAY: “You didn’t pay the actors more to do it?”
SCOTT: “No, they all came in free. Christopher had to get paid. But Michelle, no. Me, no. I wouldn’t do that to — ”
USA TODAY: “The crew, of course, did get paid?”
SCOTT: “Of course. “
USA TODAY has since learned Wahlberg’s team actually negotiated a hefty fee, with the actor paid $1.5 million for his reshoots. Williams wasn’t told.
Vulture released a very interesting interview with michelle today, in this interview you can maybe found the answers to many questions, about the reshoots of all the money in the world, about Weinstein, Spacey, the golden globes and the metoo movement, you really need to read this wonderful interview ( LINK ):
Williams is ready for all that to change. She is ready to do more, be seen more, and to feel the weight of an entire production on her back. “Some movies, you just do these little snippets, and it feels like you’re sending a text,” Williams told me last month, curled up on the couch in a Beverly Hills hotel room. “And honestly? It’s boring. It’s not a fun way to spend your life.”
Her eyes welled up, and she let out the big breath she’d been holding for months. “It’s just been such a strange saga of highs and lows and ups and downs,” she confessed. “To go from what was surprisingly one of the most exciting and creative experiences of my whole life with [Ridley Scott], who I wouldn’t have expected to have as my compadre … and then, to have it kind of skid into the dirt with Kevin Spacey …”
Williams paused and collected herself. “It’s just been up and down, up and down, and has meant that I’ve worked every day for the last two months,” she said. “It’s been an emotional roller coaster.”
“My inclination is to hate on myself, but when you work that hard for that long, it gets harder to discredit your own progress and intelligence because you’ve proven something really difficult to yourself, time and time again,”
“When you’re in the midst of a trauma, that’s really not the time you can break,” Williams explained. “You’re just in survival mode, and becoming a puddle doesn’t do anyone any good. There’s a saying that I love: ‘If you find yourself in hell, the best thing is to keep moving.’”
Williams offered to forgo both her salary and Thanksgiving holiday if it meant the film could make it over the finish line, and the production took her up on both offers. It’s since come to light that though Williams worked only for her per diem during those days — a fee of around $1,000 for the reshoots — her co-star Wahlberg, who like Williams and Scott is repped by WME, negotiated an extra paycheck for his services to the tune of $1.5 million.
“It is gutting to read the stories of people who have come forward,” she told me. “It’s been gutting to think of my own experiences and how I would want to deal with them publicly or not. Thinking about what I’ve seen, and what I’ve endured over the last 37 years as a woman … if that was my daughter’s experience, I just wouldn’t be able to live with it.”
“It just feels like maybe those deals with the devil are done, that those abusers might just have it scared out of them at this point. They didn’t have that fear before, and they sure do now, because people are finally talking.”
